Description

About this product

Here is all you need to know

The Allen Bradley 1769-L35E is a processor module from the CompactLogix family of controllers.  The CPU module is designed to be a small yet powerful and cost effective system. The module features 1.5 Mbytes of memory and features 1 x EtherNet/IP port and 1 x RS-232 serial (DF1, ASCII) port.

Primarily designed for mid range

  • as many as 8 tasks
  • Compact Flash for non volatile memory storage
  • externded I/O capacitiy
  • Increase backplane capacity and throughput resulting in the ability to mix and match and any combination of digital, analog and speciality I/O modules
  • Backplane messaging support
  • Intergrated Ethernet/IP support including control of distributed I.O
  • Increased I/O performance allows 1ms backplane RPI under certain conditions

Since the controllers operator system os a preemptive multitasking system that is IEC 1131-3 compliant. This environment provides:

tasks to configure controller execution

  • programs to group data and logic
  • routines to encapsulate executable code written in a single programming language
Important Firmware Information

Like all processors in the range, the AB 1769-L35E does not ship with working firmware. To activate the controller you must download and upload the firmware into the CPU. IF you are uncomfortable uploading the firmware then please let one of the Northern Industrial team know.  We would be more than willing to preload the firmware into your new or refurbished 1769-L35E before shipping at no extra cost. It is all part of the service.

To load the firmware can use

  • ControlFlash utility that ships with RSLogix 5000 programming software
  • AutoFlash that launches through RSLogix 5000 software when you download a project to a controller that does not have the current firmware
  • a 1784-CF64 Compact Flash card with valid memory pre loaded.

The firmware is available with RSLogix 5000 software or you can download it from the Rockwell website.

Data Broadcast & Consume

The 1769-L35E controller supports the ability to produce (broadcast) and consume (receive) system-shared tags over an EtherNet/IP link. Produced and consumed data is accessible by multiple controllers over an Ethernet network. The controller sends or receives data at a predetermined RPI rate. This is the recommended  method of communication between Logix controllers.
