The Allen Bradley 1771-ASC is a remote I/O adapter module for PLC-2 programmable controllers. This remote adapter module can be used with any 1771 I/O module in a 1771 chassis. Although now obsolete, Northern Industrial continue to support PLC-2 users with repairs and surplus equipment. The module has a number of functions including:

  • Directs the transmission of the data at a distance of up to 10,000 cable-feet
  • Receives data from the I/O scanner in serial form converts the data to parallel form to update the I/O modules
  • Reads data from the I/O modules in parallel form then converts the data to serial form before transmitting the information to the I/O scanner
