The now obsolete Allen Bradley PLC-2 system had a modular design which enabled users to add, change or remove modules as necessary to the changing needs of their application. 1771-IG modules were input modules for this programmable controller. Input modules monitor the on/off status of the input devices connected to it from signals that can originate from limit, pressure, float and selector switches, as well as from transducers, push buttons and many other sensing and switching devices.

Many different input modules were available to suit devices with varying voltage levels and characteristics. Northern Industrial continue to support PLC-2 users with repairs and surplus equipment. See technical details for the Allen Bradley 1771-IG in the specifications table below.
