The Allen Bradley 1771-SN is a sub I/O scanner module and part of the AB PLC-2  range. The 1771-SN can can be used with any processor with block transfer capability and is compatable with coms adapters with discrete transfer capability.  The 1771-SN allows you to connect upto 16 remote I/O racks using a daisy chain cable configuration. You can use smaller I/O chassis but no more than seven I/O racks (896 I/O per system). Please note the AB 1771-SN cannot perform block transfers with remote I/O adapters.
