The Siemens 6ES5942-7UH11 is a processor module for the Simatic S5-115H series of PLCs. The module features 5K of RAM and can be installed in single, switched & two channel I/O configurations. This module is often called the CPU 942H processor and is now obsolete.

In essence the CPU 942H is the 'brain' of the Simatic S5-115H programmable controller. When used in conjunction with analog modules and the appropiate software, the 6ES5942-7UH11 can be used for PID control, as a PID algorithm is an integral part of its operating system. Sampling times of up to 100 ms are possible for a control loop. As many as eight control loops can be implemented.
