One half of a 30kW Sinamics G120 inverter, the Siemens 6SL3224-0BE33-0UA0 is a PM240 Power Module designed to function at 30/37kW with a 380-480VAC 3 phase supply. The PM240 module come with an integrated braking chopper but is not supplied with the filter. Like all models within this range, the PM240 requires a Control Unit (CU230 to CU240) to operate.

When combined with the CU240 or CU230, the PM240 becomes a Sinamics G120 inverter that is suitable for a wide variety of industrial applications including fans & pumps, compressors, crushers, mixers and conveyors.  Having a choice of control modules enable you to customise the inverter for your particular application.  So if you need  Profibus, Profinet, CAN open, Modbus or just more I/O then there is a control module available for you.

PM240 Repairs

Since 2011, we have seen an increasing number of PM240 being sent in for repair. The Northern Industrial team have therefore developed the test proceeds and rigs required to functionally test the 6SL3224-0BE33-0UA0. The unit is combined with a standard control module and then ran under load for a number of hours. In some rare cases, a faulty control unit can cause the PM240 to develop faults. If you have a faulty 6SL3224-0BE33-0UA0 then it might be worth getting your control unit checked out before ordering the replacement. Northern Industrial would be able to do this free of charge but other repair providers may charge you.

Fitting the Control Module to the Siemens 6SL3224-0BE33-0UA0

It is a relatively straight forward task to fit the Control Unit to the Power Module. Simple push the control module onto the front of the unit until the release button pops out. To disconnect the CU simply push the release button on the top of the 6SL3224-0BE33-0UA0. The process of fitting the Control Unit to the Power Module is the same technique no matter  which Control Unit or Power Module combination is required.
