Mitsubishi Extension base with 12 I/O slots and 1 power supply slot

The Mitsubishi Q612B is an extension base unit for the Melsec System Q PLC family. These extension bases are connectied to the main base unit with assembled bus cables which means System Q PLCs can be exanded with a maximum of seven extension units, which enables the user to have up to 64 I/O modules. Each extension unit has a slot for their own power supply module to provide power to the I/O modules. Q612B has 12 slots for additional I/O modules. Other features of the extension base units from the Q series include:

• Q612B extension units provide a slot for their own power supply module
• A maximum of seven extension units can be connected to a main base unit with up to 64 I/O modules for a single system
• The maximum distance from the first to the last base unit is 13.2 m
• Base units with slots for two redundant power supplies increase the availability of the system

An extension base unit with a power module must be used be used in the following cases:

• If the power consumption of the inserted modules exceeds the capacity of the power supply module on the base unit
• If the voltage drops below 4.75 V between the base unit and the extension unit
