Description

About this product

Here is all you need to know

If you prefer or require analogue control loops, the Sprint SLX is the series of DC drives for you. These 4 quadrant, 3 phase drives offer a huge range of features in a compact package. Although many people will lead you to believe AC drives are the be all and end all when it comes to motor speed control, DC drives and motors still have their advantages. Check out the features and benefits of the Sprint SLX range below to find out why this series is such a great analogue DC drive.

Sprint SLX Features

Sprint manufacture great DC drives and the SLX Series is no different. With a power range of 65kW to 145kW, it is also suitable for many different applications. Here is a comprehensive list of the range’s features:

Compact size

The SLX’s small size despite its many features means you can save panel space. It is also ideal for retrofits.

PLC Compatible

Input and output signals make your Sprint SLX DC drive compatible with a variety of programmable controllers.

Field Weakener

The built in field weakener means you can take advantage of an extended speed range.

On board Relay

Indicates zero speed and/or when motor overload occurs.

Many Alarms

The alarms allow you to keep an eye on the DC motor speed controller for enhanced drive and motor protection.

Additional Features
  • 4 Quadrant
  • 3 Phase
  • Extra 50% peak torque for rapid acceleration or shock loads
  • Torque control input for basic winding or tension control, with overspeed limiting
  • Additional input and output signals perfect for system applications
  • Zero reference interlock facility ideal for extruder applications
  • Automatic economy field mode protects motors in cold climates
  • 240v to 480v 50/60HZ AC operation
  • High accuracy armature voltage feedback mode eliminates the need for additional tacho in most applications
  • Motors in cold climates are protected with the automatic economy field mode
  • Easy to Integrate
  • 410x204x187 (HxWxD mm)

It is not only the compact size of the SLX series that make it so easy to install in new designs and retrofits, but also the isolated control electronics. With the isolated control electronics and available inputs and outputs you can also easily integrate these DC drives with any other motor speed controllers you use in your plant as well as your PLCs.
