TSX MAP 1074
Telemecanique Mapway Module

The TSX MAP 1074 is an intelligent module for use with the now obsolete Telemecanique TSX series 7 modular range of programable logic controllers. The  TSXMAP1074 supports Mapway network connections through a TSXMAPACC1 terminal block, which connects via a Sub-D type connector to the the Mapway network drop cable via a F connector.

The module is designed to work in the TSX47-40, TSX67-40, TSX87-40 and TSX107-40 PLCs with the following processor modules:

• TSX P47-420
• TSX P67-410/420
• TSX P87-410/420
• TSX P107-410/420

and in TSX series & V3 PLCs

• TSX 47-31
• TSX 67-21
• TSX 87-31

The  Telemecanique TSXMAP1074 module can be used for communication between the PLC and other devices in an X-WAY automation system.

These devices include:

• Telemecanique TSX T607 or TSX T407 programming terminals connected to the programming port 
• PC swith a PC-AT (ISA) bus
• Telemecanique monitor 77 supervision system
• Digital equipment corporation (DEC) MicroVAX and IVAX mini computers
• NUM robot or machne tool numerical controllers.

Easy of Use

The TSX MAP 1074 module can operate immediatley on power up in the PLC rack, without the need for downloading a configuration.

Operational Safety

The TSX MAP 1074 module is electrically isolated from the network. In addition, the terminal block that connects the module to the network can be inserted and removed under power.

Self-Test

Each time the module is powered-up it runs a series of self tests of its internal logic. These self test include a test of the entire network as seen by the module. Any signs of incorrect operation are displayed on the front panel of the mdoule by a set of LED indicators and 7 segment display. Any faults detected are also send to the PLC.

Functionality

The TSXMAP1074 module supports the functions defined for the Mapway netwrok. These functions include

• Carrying UNI-TE messages from the PLC processor to the network and vice versa. This message system supports access to variables(all PL7 objects) for reading and writing, program transfer and PLC operating mode control
• Application program to application program communication in point-to-point mode from any station in the network layout to anyother station, or broadcast message on the network
• High priority fast communication between applications programs (short 16 bytes exchanges) between two PLCs on the same network, in the form of telegrams (TLG)
• Overall network management, especially message routing between networks.

The TSX MAP 1074 module can handle approximately 200 messages per second. A message is a COM field sent or recieved a TXT, SYS or TLG text block sent or received.
