Fast & easy inverter drive setup

One of the key selling points of the Commander SK is simple setup. Setting up an Commander SK is so easy. The top 10 parameters required for the majority of applications are clearly printed on the front facia of the inverter. The keypad programming module is included as standard with all drives as is a CD including CTsoft programming software. Everything is on hand to make programming your drive a piece of cake. Need to setup more than one Commander SK? Use the SmartStick to transfer drive settings to multiple drives.

Configuration with CTSoft

CTSoft is a drive configuration tool for commissioning, optimising and monitoring CT drives. It allows you to; use the configuration wizard to commission your drive; read, save and load drive configuration settings; manage the drive’s Smartcard data; and visualise and modify the configuration with live animated diagrams.

Smartstick icon

SmartStick

The SmartStick can be used to upload drive parameters for storage or for easy set-up of identical drives. The SmartStick cloning module provides fast and cost effective drive-to-drive parameter transfer and storage without a PC. A drive can be set to boot from the SmartStick on every power cycle.

Repair icon

Repairs

With 35+ years of repairing industrial automation parts there’s not many drive problems we haven’t encountered. We have test rigs in place to fully test Commander SK drives to ensure a fully functional repair. Our engineers have received training directly from Control Techniques and we backup your parameters as standard to get you back up and running fast. All of our drive repairs come with a 12 month warranty and our no fix no fee promise.

Upgrading to the Unidrive M200

SK to M200 upgrade

Upgrading from the Commander SK to the Unidrive M200 is easy and straightforward. The M200 is the dedicated replacement for the SK and there are a range of tools to make installation quick and easy.

Designed specifically to replace the SK - exact same number of programmable inputs and outputs with the same default out of the box configuration.

All the same great features of the Commander SK but with enhancements, for greater stability, protection and robustness.

The M200 drives are the same size or smaller than their SK counterparts with mounting adapters available to match the SK mounting holes so there is no drilling necessary.

Virtually identical parameter set so there’s no need to learn a new manufacturer’s way of naming or structuring things.

The free Unidrive M Connect software automatically converts your Commander SK parameter set to be loaded into the M200.

Commander SK fault codes

Commander SK has several fault codes which enable you to identify problems easy. Below is a list of fault codes for these drives and what they mean. If you are encountering a problem with your SK drive you can contact us at any time for assistance.

HF01 to HF03 Not used
HF04 Low DC bus at power up- may indicate an AC Input or pre-charge problem
HF05 No internal handshake signal from second processor (DSP) at start up
HF06 Unexpected interrupt
HF07 Watchdog failure
HF08 Interrupt crash (code overrun)
HF09 to HF10 Not used
HF11 Access to the EEPROM failed- tried to read stored parameter data but failed
HF12 to HF19 Not used
HF20 Power stage - code error Tried to read power board and read back erroneous
HF21 Power stage - unrecognized frame size
HF22 Overcurrent detection at power up- possible output short or bridge failure
HF23 DSP software overrun
HF24 Not used
HF25 Communications failure- communication from main to 2nd processor
HF26 Soft start relay failed to close; or soft start monitor failed; or braking IGBT short circuit at power up
HF27 Power stage thermistor fault
HF28 Power circuit thermistor 2 or 3 fault Internal fan fault on size 3 only
HF29 Fan failure (current too high - only on drives with a fan)
HF30 Not used
HF31 Internal Cap Bank Fan failure- check for fan rotation/blockage
HF32 Power circuit temperature feedback multiplexer failure

How to find your Commander SK part number

The easiest way to find a replacement Commander SK is to search your part number on our website. Usually you can find the part number on the part number sticker located on the left hand side of the drive. You might need to remove your Commander SK inverter from the control panel if the sticker isn’t visible. The part number is usually between 6 and 10 digits in length and starts with SK.
