Telemecanique Rapid Counting Module

The Telemecanique TSXCCM100 multifunction rapid counting module is an intelligent module that is capable of performing predefined data processing functions and making decisions according to the information received. It is designed for use in all TSX Series 7 PLCs (except the TSX 47-10) for applications that require rapid counting functions (up to 40 KHz) such as the counting of parts or events, or the measurement of lengths, speeds, times, etc.

After the module has been initialized and received its parameters, it can operate completely independently of the user program in the PLC. However, where necessary, the operation of the module can be synchronized with the execution of the user program by means of:

• The Register interface, which exchanges input words (IW) and output words (OW) with the CPU on each cycle of the task in which the module is configured
• The generation of Interrupts (IT) to the CPU, which have the effect of jumping the scan to the Interrupt task, which has the highest priority.

The Telemecanique TSXCCM100 incorporates the following functions

• Counter function
• Up/Down counter function
• Timer function
• Position Measurement Function
• Tachometer function
• Electronic cam function

In many ways the TSXCCM100 is a follower to the TSXCTM100 and add the electronic cam function which is equivalent to a cam mechanism with 4 cams and 16 thresholds. The TSX CCM 100 module is wholly compatible with all the applications previously developed for a TSXCTM100 module. That is to say that all applications that can be executed on a TSXCTM100 module can also be executed, without any modification, on a TSXCCM100 module. The locating device code number (730) is common to both modules, which allows a TSXCTM100 module to be replaced in the PLC configuration by a TSXCCM100 module without causing any problems.
